I hate to work!

Let me set the scene: it’s a rainy day. I took the day off to do Christmas shopping. I’m in my living room. Tsuki is watching me from her crate. The dishwasher is running. I hear Ooey walking around. Laundry’s in the wash. I just ate some chocolate silk pie. Ok, now the segments!

Rosie the Riveter - I rewired a lamp

I’ve had this lamp that I love since I moved into my old apartment that I never used because I was always afraid I’d start a fire. I’m not sure where it came from, maybe my grandparents. It’s got a little built-in glass table. It’s been in the guest room since I moved in with Janty but kind of just in a corner not doing anything because it’s so rickety and the lightbulb would always fall over. Well, a couple weeks ago I decided to bring it downstairs for a little change of scenery and the lamp that was down here looks great in the guest room! But when we plugged it in, it did smell like a fire. So I bought a lamp rewiring kit and spent some time on Friday night being an electrician. Turns out it’s easy to rewire a lamp! Here’s how it looks - lights up and everything! Um, the lightbulb does still fall over a little but I went to Ace hardware today and bought something that I am hoping will fix it.

I started listening to this podcast Pop Pantheon. They did a series on Adele and did you know she saved the music industry? I had no idea! Well done.

Ruh Roh - I almost let someone hack my Facebook

I was trying to sell our old coffee table on Facebook and this potential buyer was like, “oh let me send you a code so I can make sure you’re a real person” and I was like ok I am very trusting! Turns out, they were definitely trying to reset my password. Luckily my phone service was slow and they became very pushy and freaked me out before they could get in! I changed my password and blocked the person but still feel uneasy so if anyone notices my Facebook being weird, please let me know.

Rose Rose Rose Your Boat - I got a walking pad

There’s this lady finallyallison on Instagram who is always on her walking pad and doing step bets and really is good at selling the walking pad. I bought it on Black Friday. Mostly I use it when ICE or a jail is late to facilitate a call, so you might think “oh so not that much” but no I’m on there like 30 minutes a day just during the work day. I like it a lot! Lately many things have been happening to make my blood boil but I try to get on my walking pad instead of seething. It helps!

Rose of Sunshine - I reflect on the veggie supreme pizza landscape

Recently I was ordering a pizza for myself while Janty was gone somewhere and I made a discovery: a bunch of places had veggie supreme pizza (veggies-only) or meat lovers pizza (no veggies) but didn’t have my favorite supreme pizza (peppers, onion, olives, sausage, mushrooms). So what I ordered was veggie supreme and added sausage. It was a good pizza but I was shocked I had to take things into my own hands. I wonder if I just missed it on the menu. No, I checked a lot of times. Maybe it’s a shift in the population’s tastebuds.

What We Do in the Shadrose - I am enjoying Man on the Inside

You seen this show? It’s on Netflix. Ted Danson plays a guy who’s hired to go be a spy in an old folks home. It’s good fun. One notable thing though is the set design is soooo real. It looks just like where my grandparents used to live, down to the chairs and the centerpieces on the big table in the lobby. Wow! I have never seen any set look more like a real place in my whole life.

Jamon y Queso - I’m gonna turn Tsuki’s crate into a fun house

I saw this reel where a lady took some brown cloth and put it over a table and made her daughters a little Gingerbread house and it inspired me to make something similar for Tsuki’s crate but just a regular house. I want to make a little door and also velcro flowers to change with the seasons. Like maybe in the winter it’ll have snowflakes outside and then in the spring it can have flowers and bees and stuff. It sounds pretty easy and fun I just need to get all the supplies together and take measurements. My plan is to do it over my winter break.

Ok I have had many other thoughts this week but that’s it for now! The washer’s done so I gotta move everything to the dryer. Bye!!
